Sailing to the Nats vs. O's Game!
Ahoy, SCOW Members and Nats/O's Fans!
Get ready to skip the traffic and hit the water! We are organizing a club sail from the Washington Sailing Marina to Nationals Park to watch our Washington Nationals take on the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, May 17th.
There is no better way to arrive at the Navy Yard than by boat. We’ll enjoy a scenic cruise up the Potomac and into the Anacostia River, docking just steps from the stadium.
Event Timeline:
Meet & Prep: 11:00 AM at Washington Sailing Marina
Cast Off: 11:30 AM (Sharp!) to ensure we have plenty of time for the ~4-5 mile sail and docking.
First Pitch: 1:35 PM EDT
Return estimate is 5:30/6 p.m. but each Skipper/Crew can determine if they stay for the whole game.
SCOW will cover the dock fees and Skipper tickets. Crew will cover their own tickets. ($30-$50) We will coordinate a block purchase to get a discount
Join us for a day on the bay, where we'll anchor and watch the Airshow for the US Naval Academy's commissioning week celebrations.
Join SCOW on Calypso for an afternoon on the Severn for the Blue Angels airshow. Whether you are on a kayak, a paddle board, canoe, or sunfish, join us at the mouth of the Spa Creek where you can raft up to Calypso and enjoy the air show. If you just love hosting and want to help welcome the paddlers you can join us on Calypso as a deckhand.
Where? The airshow happens over the Severn River and we will anchor near shore at the mouth of the Spa Creek so it is easier to reach us by paddle.
When? Wednesday, May 20 (Rehearsal on Tuesday May 19th)
Connect in Advance! Join our WhatsApp group for live updates to coordinate our raft-up, and maybe post-event treats at a pub.
Let us know if you would like to help coordinate this event. Email us at River@Scow.org
See you there!

Our Saturday crew will meet at Nautilus Point and various points down the bay at 10am to set up and sail to the West River for Dinner. Members wishing to address the Board meeting should advise the Commodore (or other officer presiding over the Club pursuant to Article V) in advance so that they may be placed on the agenda.
