  This will be a relaxed, low-pressure event designed to give those who aren’t usually at the front of the fleet a chance to race each other. 

  Eligibility:

  1. Club Skippers who have not placed 1st in St. Brendan’s Day or Director’s Cup SCOW races.
  2. Private boat skippers who are new to racing or have not yet caught the “race bug.”
  3. Others at the discretion of the Racing Director.

• Magellan Cup 2025 September 27

  Ferdinand Magellan is commonly known for making the first circumnavigation of the Earth. Our Magellan race will circumnavigate the boundaries of our sailing area and is intended to be a relaxing distance race in the shadows of local landmarks with a few fun twists such as a backward race.   Ferdinand Magellan is commonly known for making the first circumnavigation of the Earth. After several successions of command, this first circumnavigation of the Earth was completed with Juan Sebastián Elcano in command. More information at Ferdinand Magellan - Wikipedia. Our Magellan race will circumnavigate the boundaries of our sailing area and is intended to be a relaxing distance race in the shadows of local landmarks with a few fun twists such as a treasure hunt and backward race.
